Re: Minima for PunBB 1.2

For the 'brown' (which is orange?) change all instance of #c60 to whatever you want in Minima_cs.css.

As for the 'blue' - Which blue?

Re: Minima for PunBB 1.2

I too love the style and I have tried my best to modify it to look even better. The problem is that its CSS is very, very messy. Not only that, it's divided into 3 different files. Could someone with perhaps a little bit better knowledge of CSS than me help out making this theme even better, and cleaner?

The site I put it up on is http://www.tepstad.no and the CSS files are at http://www.tepstad.no/style.tgz -- please have a go someone! Some of the problems I have identified is the need to: 1) combine, preferably recode, the style into a single, minimal CSS file. 2) make the fonts of equal size in both Firefox and Internet explorer, and further adjust some of the sizes 3) remove the stupid square / roof top bulletin listing. 4) remove some of the unnecessary indenting that occurs. 5) make the horizontal line between the forum categories and posts of equal length to the horizontal length in the header.

Remember, when it comes to design, this would be the true definition for something minimal:

There are two ways of achieving good design. One is to compliment natural beauty. The other is to remove anything which may compromise it. Design is about taking something complex and transforming it into something easy. By cutting things down to the essential, we arrive at a state of clarity which makes it easier for us to function.

Complexity creates a dramatic impression. Simplicity, on the other hand, gives us the opportunity to focus and appreciate with understanding. To remove useless things which may compromise important things is something we need to take seriously. People who say that greater complexity means greater value--or that more choices means more freedom--never carry proof.

I hope anyone out there feels the same way I do.

All the best,
Kyrre

Too white! *is used to darker skins* Well it's way too bright for me, I didn't see any gradients or anything that really catches me taht much. If your looking for white it's good!

Re: Minima for PunBB 1.2

kyrre - I agree. The reason the CSS is like that is because that is the punBB standard.

And it is supposed to emulate the Minima theme for Wordpress, so that's why it looks the way that it does. Not my original design.

Re: Minima for PunBB 1.2

Hi,
I like this style, please have a lokk at http://www.galopp-sport.eu/forumgalopp/ … .php?id=21 and view it with Firefox and IE. What I donot understand is that the image frame will be expandes to the free part of the screen within Firefox and the IE will cut the frame, I donot understand to much about the technology behind the browsers, so will there be a change to expand within IE to view the entire video?

Re: Minima for PunBB 1.2

Just a suggestion, I donot know wether it will make real sense or not?

I have installed the mini-portal as front-end, now I just think about,  if a User could decide at profile screen, to have the "News-Colum" right of left of the "main colum", dedending if he/she is right or left hander, would that make sense ? And would left-hander use this feature?

Second question, I would like to decide on Adminpage that at several pages the "news-block" should not be displayed, because the content could use the complete witdh of the page (for example with the problems of the video frame in IE, see above), and a third question: Could I feed the "News block colum" on each major page (Forum, calendar, chat, etc)  with different comtent comming out of  a categorie, which is in visible at the forum?

but not mandatory. i have successfully combined all the css files and they work just fine. you need to remove the call for the cs_css file in the css file tho. haven't tested for standardization tho.

Re: Minima for PunBB 1.2

best custom style for PunBB in my opinion - is about simplicity which is what PunBB is also about.

erissiva - are you going to update this for when 1.3 is released out of interest?

Re: Minima for PunBB 1.2

Is there a way tot improve visuals in IE Explorer? Bottom line of the forumtitle seems to be cut off  there, whereas it looks great on my mac or in firefox.....

Nice style btw!
